Invitation to contribute to the Forced Adoption Memorial Plaques Project
The aim of this project is to create and install several memorial plaques about forced adoption and the national apology in sites associated with this history in Queensland. It is hoped that a regional site can be included. These plaques will be an acknowledgement of the history of forced adoption and will raise community awareness.
A consultation process will support a working group of F.A.S.S. stakeholders to make decisions around the wording, design and placement of these plaques.
You are invited to contribute to the discussion by suggesting a site in Queensland that:
(1) has a strong connection to the history of forced adoption and
(2) is in a place where members of the public are likely to see it.
We are keen to hear about regional sites in particular. Please send any suggestions by 1st June by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or phoning Jigsaw us on (07) 3358 6666 or 1800 210 313.
If you would like to join the working group for this project and attend a meeting on 8th June at Jigsaw Qld please contact Andrea Lynch using the above email or phone contacts.
This project is funded by the small grants program.
